The port of Canet-en-Roussillon is a well-established and popular harbour on a beautiful stretch of coastline, 9 km of beaches stretch away to either side and plenty of water sports are on offer. Canet is a traditional seaside resort with all the fun and relaxation that conjures up - ice-cream, sunbathing, minigolf... Lively bars and restaurants line the beachfront where visitors enjoy fresh dishes with the excellent local wines. Dolphin watching and fishing are popular activites, whilst the nearby lake (Etang de Canet) has been designated especially rich in birdlife.
Canet-en-Roussillon is only 12 km from Perpignan and is therefore highly accessible by road, rail and air. The TGV goes through Perpignan and on to Barcelona (1hr20), and Paris (5hr). By sea, Canet is priviliged to be close to the Camargue, the Costa Brava and the Balearic Islands. In nautical miles it is 180M to Alcudia, 40m to Cadaques, 140M to Barcelona, 69M to La Grande Motte.
In July and August a water taxi runs in the port, making getting around even easier.
