Set right in the heart of the charming fishing port of Sete, IGY's new marina brings the company's expert knowledge of the marina industry and personalised customer service to the South of France.
Due to open in 2019, Sete Marina will have 21 superyacht berths suitable for the world's largest vessels, brand new facilities for yacht crew, a swimming pool and quality shops and restaurants on its doorstep. Sete Marina is also an ideal home port for excursions to the Cote d'Azur, Corsica and Sardinia, Spain and the Balearic islands.
From Sete Marina you can take a pleasant stroll to the historic town center. Here you can indulge in fabulous local cuisine with seafood dishes fresh from the day's catch. Sete is renowned for shellfish farming and fishing, so mussels, clams and oysters are a local speciality.
Sete is also known for its amazing art and museums such as the Musee Paul Valery, named after the early 20th century poet, philosopher and native of Sete, Paul Valery. From here you can enjoy the beautiful views overlooking the Cimetiere Marin, a maritime cemetery resting on the cliff. You can also visit the Regional Centre for Contemporary Art, very close to the marina, which hosts regular exhibitions from artists across the region. The local architecture also adds to the artistic landscape with historic buildings, chapels and forts, all worth a visit.
Each year in August, Sete holds water jousting tournaments, a local tradition since 1666 where you can stand along the canals and watch the honoring of the patron saint Fete de la Saint Louis.
Out on the water you can enjoy a full range of watersports and activities, including stand-up-paddle boarding and kayaking. From Sete Marina you can also take a guided tour through the canals of Sete or take a trip to the Blue Flag awarded beaches nearby - an eight mile stretch sure to impress.
