General information
Description
Accommodations
The aft companionway leads from the cockpit into the aft cabin, with double berth, with memory foam mattress, to port and nav station to starboard. The engine compartment is below the stairs. The head is to starboard, forward of the nav station, it has a separate shower stall which can conveniently double as a wet locker.
The head creates a passageway between the aft cabin and the salon. The large, U-shaped galley is to port as you enter the salon area. Opposite is a ladder that comes from a second companionway hatch on the coachroof forward of the traveller. This allows access to the forward part of the boat without disturbing anyone in the aft cabin. At the base of ladder is a large storage locker.
The salon original salon table has been replaced with a smaller table to provide more space. It butts up to the main mast and can fold down. The original, larger table is available. Straight settees on each side have storage above & behind and water tanks below. New salon upholstery in 2016. Access to the forward cabin is offset to port.
The forward cabin is vast, it has a vanity with sink to port with storage beneath. Hanging storage, and drawers to starboard as well as a seat. The v-berth has a custom mattress with topper. A large overhead hatch provides light and ventilation.

The Pearson 424 is a popular model as it has proven to be an ideal cruising vessel; with large cockpit, wide side decks and 2 companionways for easy access to the decks from either the salon or the aft cabin. The Ketch rig allows for a variety of sail plans, so it there is always a comfortable sail configuration for whatever the weather produces. The 'open-plan' aft cabin with the bunk and nav station at the base of the companionway is ideal for passage making as the crew has good communication with whoever is on watch. The interior is spacious with a large salon and galley area as well as a very comfortable v-berth in the bow. Huge amounts of storage and an accommodating layout make this an ideal cruising boat for a couple or a family.
