Accommodations

"The Tiara 2900 has a good balance between deck and saloon space. By being the smallest vessel in a range there is always the temptation to steal from the deck space to make room down below, but this is essentially a day/overnighter so the most important areas are up top.

The resulting layout is a hardtop covered wheelhouse area with a raised L-shape lounge across from the twin-seated helm. Behind this is a step-down cockpit serviced by an aft facing lounge, wide combings and a lift up lounge along the transom. There is a wide, solid and well hung inward opening transom door with overbuilt stainless steel latches and hinges that typify the excellent overall build quality of the Tiara.

The walkways forward are generous and the flared bow rail extends aft to provide plenty of grab holds when moving about the vessel. At the bow, the well-built theme continues with solid stainless steel cleats, a Maxwell windlass and a stainless steel lined pulpit for the anchor. The helm is equipped with a range of instruments covering oil pressure, fuel, temp, volts, tach and a compass. There are switches for the windlass and lighting and a VHF Radio. The layout has the shower/head located just outboard and to port of the companionway stairs. This reserves the rest of the saloon as open to the galley, forward berth and a starboard ultra leather settee. Aft of the forward facing settee is additional bulk storage space. 

At the foremost bulkhead below deck is a smartly placed mirror, doubling natural light and aiding is making the compact living quarters appear larger. There are comfortable upholstered bolsters along the forward berth sides. This double berth is expanded easily with a small flip-up insert at her point of entry. Between the berth and galley is a deep, cedar-lined, hanging locker. 

The galley has ample bench space and features a single burner, electric cook top, fridge, single basin stainless steel sink, Emerson microwave, drawer storage below and ample storage in sliders outboard. Other features include the shore powered air-conditioning and a Clarion sound system. Natural light comes from 3 portholes and deck hatches and night lighting is mostly mounted overhead.

This boat has new electronics in 2020 and is so clean, that you'll think you are looking a brand new boat.

The hull of the Tiara 2900 Open Classic is designed with prop pockets to lessen shaft and running angles for lower bow height while cruising. Ax-head rudders allow for better handling and control. Sound levels are modest thanks to insulation in the engine room and a muffler system that includes side exhausts. Construction features include a vinylester barrier coat, solid-glass bottom, knitted biaxial cloth and Coremat in the hullsides, and end-grain balsa in the decks. For additional protection against alignment problems, the engines are mounted with solid-brass rods that pass through the stringers horizontally. The cabin is equipped with a bifold door at the companionway for easy entry. The aft back cushion on the dinette lifts and latches onto the overhead with a nylon strap to expose open space below the helm station, resulting in a double berth that stretches six feet, four inches. The forward berth is also a double thanks to a fold-up drop section. The head is designed with a curved door to maximize interior space. The galley has dual-voltage refrigerator, single-burner electric cooktop, and a molded sink with pressure freshwater system. In the cockpit, the helm console tilts aft, while the gray fiberglass dash minimizes glare on the clustered VDO gauges. Back-to-back seats give the helmsman a clear view through the windshield, designed with a thick band of poly trim along the top of the windshield frame to turn back the occasional spray. The cockpit has optional fish wells and a walk-through transom door.
